A six-year-old Chinese boy was saved from dropping eight storeys by his ears when he was left dangling from window bars outside his home.
Ming Ming, managed to get his head stuck in the bars of his home in Yichang, China.
But rather than fall through completely, he became lodged between the grate due to his ears sticking out.
The boy is believed to have woken up alone after his grandfather left his home temporarily to run an errand. When he woke up, he is then thought to have fallen from the window while looking for his grandfather.
Crowds gathered after hearing the boy screaming and recuers were able to save him. Firefighters were able to use a hydraulic pressure expander to force the bars apart and pull him back into his apartment.
One witness said: "The only thing stopping him from plunging to the ground below was the fact hsi head was trapped between two window bars."
Fire service spokesman Wang Shen said: "He could have fallen to the ground - or have been suffocated - at any minute".
