"Early on the morning of July 23, a fisherman from Ningbo City in east China's Zhejiang Province was shocked by the sight of a huge creature lying dead beside the seawall near his home. It was first seen by villagers on July 20, according to Mei who breeds fish nearby, and is nearly 12 meters long and weighs around 2 tons, according to district sea and fishery bureau staff. The animal reportedly has a long thin head and a snout nearly one meter long. Partly rotten, with its spine exposed, it has been impossible to identify, but has been described as having some hair, and orange stripes across a three to four-meter wide belly. The skull, which alone weighs over 100 kg, and coccyx of the creature have fallen from its body." - more

What the hell is that thing?
Doesn't anyone in China want to know what this was? It states in the article that scientists took pieces of the animal away. What happened after that?

They never did find Robert Maxwell's body did they....
Robert Maxwell was lost at sea Nov 5, 1991 off the Canary Islands. His body was subsequently found floating in the Atlantic Ocean. This 2 ton blob was found July 20, 2005. It is possible that someone exhumed Maxwell, turned him into some kind of blob with some horrid process, added weight and dropped him in the East China Sea ... but I doubt it.

I knew you were joking, but I have a very dry sense of humor and it entertains me to consider strange possibilities. ;-) Not many people weigh 2 tons...
