An article by Paul Kiel had the actual FBI document on the now famous prostitution case which caused Eliot Spitzer New York’s 54th Governor, a democrat, to resign.

A prostitute I was listening to in a radio interview made the following point: An adult woman can sell her body in many legal ways, she can sell her physical work, she can sell her intellectual property, she can sell her art, and that woman can have sex with as many men as she wants. Fifty a day if she likes! This is all perfectly legal, but the minute that same woman accepts a dollar for it, she is both a victim and a criminal. Why should it be illegal to accept money for an otherwise legal activity?

I'm not into it, but I think we should legalize it, and tax it, have trade schools, diplomas and licenses. Would you be opposed to having state licensed sex care providers? Perhaps I'm wrong, but if it wasn't underground the problems with drugs and abuse would be greatly reduced I think.

The New York Times cites "a person with knowledge of the governor’s role" that Eliot Spitzer is "Client-9" in last week's criminal complaint against four people who allegedly managed an international prostitution ring for wealthy clientele.

... The defendants mentioned below, Temeka Rachelle Lewis, Mark Brener, and Cecil Suwal, all are charged with managing and running the prostitution ring. QAT Consulting Company is alleged to be a front company used by the ring for transactions.

On February 14, 2008, at approximately 12:02 a.m., TEMEKA RACHELLE LEWIS, a/k/a "Rachelle," the defendant, received a call from "Kristen." During the call, "Kristen" told LEWIS , that "he," a reference to Client-9, had left. LEWIS asked "Kristen" what time he got there, and "Kristen" said "15 after . . . maybe 10." LEWIS asked "Kristen" how she thought the appointment went, and "Kristen" said that she thought it went
very well. LEWIS asked "Kristen" how much she collected, and 'Kristen" said $4,300. "Kristen" said that she liked him, and that she did not think he was difficult. "Kristen" stated: 'I don't think he's difficult. I mean it's just kind of like . . . whatever. . . I'm here for a purpose. I know what my purpose is. I am not a . . . moron, you know what I mean. So maybe that's why girls maybe think they're difficult . . . . " "Kristen" continued: "That's what it is, because you're here for a [purpose]. Let's not get it twisted - I know what I do, you
know." LEWIS responded: "You look at it very uniquely, because . . . no one .ever says it that way." LEWIS continued that from what she had been told "he" (believed to be a reference to Client-9) "would ask you to do things that, like, you might not think were safe - you know - I mean that . . . very basic things. . . . "Kristen" responded: "I have a way of dealing with that . . . I'd be like listen dude, you really want the sex? . . . You know what I mean." Near the end of the call, LEWIS and "Kristen" discussed "Kristen's" departure via Amtrak, the room that Client-9 had provided for "Kristen," and "Kristen's" share of the cash that Client-9 had provided to her.

I found it interesting that the phone web site ( http://www.qatgroup.com/ ) with a phone number 1-866-459-5698 is still up today. I wouldn't visit the web site without protection from spyware, however. ;-) The woman known as "Kristin" is Ashley Alexandra Dupre ( Times informs us that her legal name is Ashley Rae Maika DiPietro) and a myspace page with her photo is up

The New York Times has all "Kristen's" pictures splayed out, and the 411 on the Jersey girl who sings and is 22 years old. She came to the Big Apple for fame and fortune, and she certainly got at least one of those things. -monstersandcritics

On her MySpace page, Ms. Dupre writes of her “odyssey to New York from New Jersey through North Carolina, Miami, D.C., Virginia and Austin, Texas;” public records show that she lived in Belmar, N.J., in 2001, and in North Carolina in 2003. She owns a company, created in 2005, called Pasche New York, which her lawyer said was an entertainment business designed to further her singing career.

Music is her first love, and on the MySpace page, Ms. Dupre mentions Patsy Cline, Frank Sinatra, Christina Aguilera and Lauryn Hill among a long list of influences, including her brother, Kyle. (She also lists Madonna, Mary J. Blige and Amy Winehouse as her top MySpace friends.) In the interview, she said she saw the Rolling Stones perform at Radio City Music Hall on their last tour after a friend gave her two of tickets. “They were amazing,” she said.

On MySpace, it says: “I am all about my music and my music is all about me. It flows from what I’ve been through, what I’ve seen and how I feel.” - NYTimes

I think people are morbidly fascinated to see what a $4,100 hooker looks like.

According to an affidavit in the federal prostitution case, Spitzer agreed to pay $4,100, including transportation fees, to transport "Kristen" from New York's Penn Station to Washington Union Station and, ultimately to Room 871 of the Mayflower. (The affidavit doesn't identify which hotel, though Spitzer reportedly stayed at the Mayflower on Feb. 13. According to the New York Times, room 871 at the Mayflower was registered that night under the name "George Fox," a pseudonym used by Spitzer.)

According to a cached site of the Emperors Club VIP, available at the Smoking Gun, the escort service requires "at least 48 hours notice and a minimum 55% deposit." Each "model" -- a.k.a. hooker -- is graded by the number of diamonds she has on her page. For example, a three-diamond "model" costs $1,000 per hour, whereas a seven-diamond prostitute costs $3,100 an hour.
