A Town of Chautauqua man was struck by lightning while cutting his lawn Saturday evening, police said.
Shortly before 8 p.m., Amos N. Byler of Walker Road was struck on the back of the head and neck as he cut his lawn with a sickle, police reported.
Byler, 41, was transported to Westfield Hospital by Hartfield EMS for treatment and was later taken to St. Vincent's Hospital in Erie, Pa., where he was reported in stable condition today. - bnews
