A Naugatuck man is facing prison time after pleading guilty to charges he shot up a gasoline pump, trying to make it explode.
Police say 49-year-old Michael Mason tried to commit suicide after a night of heavy cocaine use by shooting at a gas pump at a New Haven Road gas station in October 2008.
He pleaded guilty Monday to several charges including having weapons in a car.
Mason was hospitalized after the incident when he was injured in a crash following the shooting incident.
Mason will have the right to argue for no time in prison to 2 1/2 years when he appears for sentencing in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 14.
