Could the object in the picture be an Unidentified Flying Object? These are among the questions raised after the object was captured on film by a guest at the Paradise Sandy Beach Resort in Tanjung Bungah on Tuesday.

The Australian tourist was photographing the sunrise around 8am from the balcony of his hotel room when he caught the object on film.

I tend to agree, but you have to consider WHY they are suppressing the technology. Just look around. We can't HANDLE unlimited power. We'd probably destroy ourselves in the first few months if the Zero Point or other energy secrets were revealed.

After years of research into UFOs, that's my own conclusion. They are doing the right thing because humans are too immature and violent to be given the gift of free energy.

Created by roboticists from Italy, France and Switzerland, "Babybot" automatically experiments with objects nearby and learns how best to make use of them. This gives the robot an ability to develop motor skills in the same way as a human infant.

The robot consists of a one-armed torso with a pair of cameras for eyes and a grasping hand. It has an in-built desire to physically experiment with objects on the table in front of it and an ability to assess different forms of interaction and learn from mistakes. If the robot fails to grasp an object securely, for example, it remembers and tries a differently strategy next time. One unbidden skill developed by Babybot was the ability to roll a bottle across its table.

A joint UK-US team has put forward an alternative theory of cosmic evolution. It proposes that the Universe undergoes cycles of "Big Bangs" and "Big Crunches", meaning our Universe is merely a "child of the previous one".

New research shows that pre-historic horses in Alaska may have been hunted into extinction by man, rather than by climate change as previously thought.The discovery by Andrew Solow of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, US, David Roberts of the Royal Botanic Garden, Kew and Karen Robbirt of the University of East Anglia (UEA) is published this week in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).

The accepted view had previously been that the wild horses became extinct long before the extinction of mammoths and the arrival of humans from Asia - ruling out the possibility that they were over-hunted by man. One theory had been that a period of climate cooling wiped them out.

However, the researchers have discovered that uncertainties in dating fossil remains and the incompleteness of fossil records mean that the survival of the horse beyond the arrival of humans cannot be ruled out. - more

Hernandez, who relatives say spends most of her time dozing and no longer speaks, was surrounded by some 200 people at her party, some bearing a cake and others dressed as Salvadoran mythological heroes.

According to national records, Hernandez was born on May 3, 1878, in one of the country's central provinces, where she gave birth to 13 children. She now has 60 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great grandchildren.

National birth registry officials sent Hernandez's documents to the Guinness World Records organization last year but have yet to hear whether the case was accepted.

Guinness claims Ecuadorean Maria Esther de Capovilla is the world's oldest living woman at age 116.

According to the organization, the longest any woman has ever lived is 122 years. The oldest man was 120 when he died in 1986.

"Residents of a Japanese condo are set to receive sunlight via a lighting system that transmits natural light from a rooftop lens to their rooms, a news report said Wednesday. Residents demanded the 14-storey condo in central Tokyo be fitted with the system after finding that a 12-storey building would be erected only several metres away, blocking their access to sunlight, according to the daily Sankei newspaper."We are united in our desire for sunlight," the paper quoted resident Tadashi Ueda as saying.

The lighting system, developed by a consortium of engineering companies with government support, transmits sunlight captured by a large rooftop lens through an optical fibre system. Harmful ultraviolet rays are removed before the light enters the condos, according to the consortium's website. Some offices and homes already use the lighting system, but this is the first time a whole condo will be fitted, the Sankei said. The consortium couldn't be reached Wednesday, a public holiday in Japan. The report didn't specify how much the system would cost." - canoe
