This guy must have thought he was watching "Shooting at the Stars."
Apparently, Bristol Palin's most recent routine on "Dancing With the Stars" upset a rural Wisconsin man to the point where he allegedly blew out his television with a shotgun, followed by a standoff with police until he eventually surrendered.
The Wisconsin State Journal reports that Steven N. Cowan, 66, of the town of Vermont was watching the hit ABC dance competition with his wife Monday night when he became enraged at the alleged "politics" of why the daughter of former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin was still on the show, even though he thought she wasn't a good dancer.According to the criminal complaint filed in Dane County Circuit Court, Cowan, who was stressed from financial matters and under care for a mental health condition, loaded his single-shot shotgun and fired it at the television.
When he reloaded the shotgun and aimed it at his wife, she fled, drove to the town of Black Earth and called 911, telling police she feared for her safety.
A standoff followed between Cowan and sheriff's deputies until he surrendered at his house Tuesday morning.
Cowan has been charged with second-degree reckless endangerment. Meanwhile, Palin has advanced to next week's finals of "Dancing With the Stars."
