A friend of mine and I were sitting outside having some drinks a few nights ago in Sacramento California and we were panhandled by two different people. Neither of us give money to strangers on the street, but we still wanted to do something helpful.I thought it would be nice to have a business card sized help guide. The space on a business card is very limited, which makes it even more challenging.
What would you put on such a card? I would think, to be useful, it would have to be city specific.
Thoughts:
- Locations of homeless shelters
- Places to get food (foodbanks)
- Health Care for the homeless
- Where to get free public internet access
(PS. What's up with the bullets extending into the photos Wordpress?)

I think that's a great idea. Although once I saw a city social worker drop off a guy on a corner. He pulled out his cigarettes and then a big cardboard sign. Maybe there's not much here for them that even the city is promoting panhandling. Who knows.
